Adult Psychotherapy

Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is the regular meeting with a psychoanalytically trained professional wherein the goal is to help the patient feel better in a lasting way. A commitment to undertaking psychotherapeutic work should not be taken lightly, since while initial sessions will frequently bring about a sensation of relief, deeper changes in personality require ongoing work.

Indications for this type of work include:

Depression and/or anxiety states
Confusion that impacts daily functioning
Repeated relationship difficulties with new partners
Sleeping or eating disorders
Dissociative states or feelings of unrealness
Inability to cope with a crisis or loss
Persistent feelings of aloneness
Feelings of ongoing dissatisfaction and/or frustration with one's situation and choices
A desire for increased self-understanding/self-awareness
